Idyllic tranquil setting in the heart of rural Somerset
“I just need some time in a beautiful place to clear my head” William Morris
If you are feeling stressed by the relentless pressure of work, or exhausted by the demands of family life, I have the ideal location for you to find calm and respite. Take time to step outside your busy life and experience the reparative powers of nature and animals in an idyllic setting.
My practice is based in the village of Spaxton (postcode TA5 1AF), in quiet countryside on the edge of the beautiful Quantock Hills. It is, though, easily accessible by car from Bridgwater and Taunton, and only twenty minutes’ drive from the M5 Jct 23 and 24. Bristol and Exeter are both within an hour’s drive of the property. Counselling and equine-assisted therapy sessions take place at our smallholding, formerly an old farmstead, which is set back from the nearest road and totally apart from other dwellings. This is a private property, meaning that you will be the only client on site - allowing individual sessions to be conducted in peace and privacy. Group equine sessions may also take place at different venues, depending on the needs of the clients.
The picturesque shepherd’s hut is set in a peaceful orchard and provides a warm, cosy and reassuring counselling space in which to talk about issues that are troubling you. Alternatively, we are surrounded by beautiful countryside if you feel more comfortable walking and talking.
Because of the rural nature of the location, it is not easily accessible via public transport although Spaxton does have an intermittent bus service. If you have special access needs, please let me know when you make your enquiry and we will discuss ways in which it might be possible to accommodate them.
